The time for release is NOW! Thanks to years of continued TransCorp dedication, the time has come to introduce the Tenshi No Uta/Song of the Angel series to English audiences! For the first time ever, you will have the opportunity to delve into a series with angels, demons, and love at its core. Once more we’ve spent hundreds of hours on a project across a number of years to bring some of the best hacking work you’re going to see from a fan translation on the SNES platform. Our ROM hacking art project is now on full display for your enjoyment! As an added bonus, we’ve fixed a number of detrimental original game bugs too!
All of the long winded project details can be found in the readme file. I highly urge you to browse through it. The patch was tested on all major emulators as well as the real hardware. Feel free to stop on by the message board and share your opinions, thoughts, and any issues or suggestions you may have!
Go play it now! It is simply… angelic!

Much work has been done since the last update. Two rounds of script editing were completed, all hacking was finalized, and all bugs were fixed that were found during initial play through! That means the game is fully playable, and everything is ready for beta testing!
A small team has been assembled and the beta testing phase is underway. This is the last stop before release. We don’t expect any major issues as the game has already been played through internally by our translator and script editor.
The next update will likely confirm an expected release time! Rejoice and let the anticipation build as the Song of the Angel will be sung for the world to hear in English soon!

The remaining bits of misc translation work have now been finished! I have been working on a finalization pass of the hacking work now that everything is in place. As you can see from the screenshots, everything is looking great!
The script really needs some editing now. The original translator will only be able to do a first pass accuracy check . We will need a second pass where the bulk of the cleanup editing would be done for grammar, consistency, clarity, etc. We are ideally looking for someone with an English major, and/or strong demonstrable skills of past editing work. An added bonus if it is ROM hacking or gaming related. We’re looking to polish the project up to release grade standards now and need a dedicated, serious individual to do so.
Please Contact Me if interested in the editing position.
After we get an editor lined up, we’ll have a more clear timeline again on how close we are to beta testing. I am trying to push things along as best I can with all involved. We’re getting close and things are getting exciting!

Tenshi No Uta
It turns out our translator and script editor Liana was never able to return to work on the project again. I haven’t been able to even get any responses to my e-mails. That’s how life goes with child number two, I guess! Having done early play testing and taking project inventory, there are still scattered untranslated bits that need to be done as well as script editing.
So, we are looking for a new translator to help push the project over the finish line. Preferably, we need someone familiar with Tenshi No Uta, having played the game and/or other games in the series. It would also be good to have some prior experience on another ROM hacking translation project. It’s a bonus if you can also do script editing, but we don’t expect miracles and can recruit someone else for that part!
Let me know if you’re interested in the job/s and what your qualifications may be. All hacking work is complete sans a finalization pass when all is in place. Otherwise my hands are tied for completing this project.

I’ve been steam rolling right along on Tenshi No Uta this year and things have been going great. Tenshi No Uta (translated as Song of the Angel) is now nearing completion. Much of the same code and tools used on Glory of Heracles IV were reused for this project. As a result, it will continue being some of my best produced work to date! I completed all of the hacking work and started doing some early play testing. Play testing has allowed me to finalize various menu screens and limits, as well as make improvements after finally seeing how things play out in full English! I will post a bunch of menu related screenshots for the next update when I stop tweaking things. The remaining work will be in the areas of script editing, fixing problems, and continued internal testing/revision. After that phase, the project should be ready for group beta testing!
While there are no major obstacles on my end, we will be taking a break for awhile. Our translator Liana (whom will be doing the bulk of the script editing work) just added another newborn to her family. So, she has been away from the project for awhile and it will be some time before she is able to get back up to speed again. We’ll see how things go over the next few weeks. My testing will be limited until a more finalized version of the script is in place. I am anxiously awaiting her return so I can push this project over the finish line at long last!

Glory of Heracles IV Version 1.1 Patch Update
This is just a quick update to announce the Glory of Heracles IV version 1.1 patch. This version fixes the garbage tiles that may appear with weather/space changing commands. It also addressed a few reported grammar and consistency issues. It was a minor release and addresses everything that has been reported to date.
Tenshi No Uta
In other news, big things are happening with Tenshi No Uta. I have been steam rolling right along these past weeks. I have made tons of progress. The next update will surely show some nice screenshots and contain juicy news on the state of the project. The end of the road is near for Tenshi No Uta.

For nearly 20 years I have helped shape and strengthen the spirit of the ROM hacking community. I fell into a unique community of peers and fans alike all those years ago. I was there to help get things started in mid 90’s. I’ve translated several games. I’ve built ROMHacking.net. I’ve turned hacking newbies into superstars. I have given more than my fair share, but yet the passion lives on. Today marks completion of one more chapter in that legacy, one more gift to my community, and one more SNES English fan translation. Today marks the release of Glory of Heracles IV: Gift from the Gods!
I’ve spent hundreds of hours on this project across a number of years to bring some of the best hacking work you’re going to see from a fan translation on the SNES platform. Often times the impossible was made possible, and I found myself unable to understand what force would drive me to continue on. Why would one do all of this for no reward? Some say the reward is in the work. I’m not too sure that’s true. ROM hacking projects like this can be very tedious. No, I think the reward is being able to make a small difference in the world, and touch the lives of many others whom will undoubtedly enjoy this work. I suppose one might compare ROM hacking to creating art! Ha! So yes, my sculpture is complete and is now on display for all to see!
I’ve written all of the long winded project details, speeches, and summaries in the readme file, so there is no sense repeating it again here. The project history, hacking trials and tribulations, as well as words from the translator are all there. I highly urge you to browse through it. The patch was tested on all major emulators as well as the real hardware. It should work without issue and the testers did a great job. However, with 100 ihabitable bodies that may affect dialog and battle, the possibilities are many. Feel free to stop on by the message board and share your opinions, thoughts, and any issues or suggestions you may have!
Go play it now! It is simply… Glorious!

Although things have been quiet on the front page, we’ve been getting loud and working hard behind the scenes! The script editing phase was completed and I completed many hours of personal testing on the real hardware, having played through most of the game. Things are really looking good, and I don’t expect any significant show-stopping issues during testing. I believe the game to be fully playable and will probably complete my personal play through this week!
We have been working on assembling a team for beta testing and will begin formal testing any day now! So, now it is time to find those inconsistencies, silly mistakes, and additional script spots that only testing brings out.
We are still short a tester or two, so we are looking to find one or two people from the general public. We prefer someone with previous testing experience (and someone to vouch for them if possible). Being a TransCorp forum supporter and having experience playing the Glory of Heracles games are also pluses!
Rejoice! The final road to the release of Glory of Heracles IV in English has begun!
