Baldurs Gate/Icewind Dale

Has anyone here played both series? I am looking for a little advice. In what little free time I devote to actually playing games I decided to get back into pc rpg's. I got Baldurs gate 2 and icewind dale 1 and 2 with expansions as a gift. I also have played already BG1 and TotSC addon. Now my question is should I play ID1, or BG2?

I don't know.. I've never played any of them! Was BD1 any good?
I never could really get into PC RPG's aside from console RPG like ones such as Septerra Core or the PC version of Grandia II, FFVII and FFVIII.

Well compared to todays graphic standards and later BG/ID titles, BG1 is a little lacking in graphics, and gameplay. But it is how the series started, everything has to start somewhere.   But I really enjoyed it after I figured out that I could pause the game and plan the attack out instead of getting killed before I had everyones attack turn input. Mama always said, "READ THE DOCS AND READMES!"

i have finish both baldurs gate 1 and 2 an ice windale 1 an 2 i liked ive windale 2 more because it has more action an you get to pick from many races also you are able to make your own party
