DQ4-6 on Nintendo DS

Although its not official for the West yet, this announcement had me very excited, from the pictures they look to be graphically in the range of DQ4 for the Playstation.  I think the odds of them coming over here are good.

I'm always the party pooper when it comes to these things. I'm don't like this at all. Official releases of DQV and VI finally have a chance of coming and it's crappy 3D on a crappy small screen handheld. I understand a lot of people like the DS and its' commercially successful, but I still hate that mainstream games like this are going exclusively to it. I'd much rather play DQ games on my TV. Also, DQVI screams 2D.. It already had damn impressive visuals on the SNES that have aged to this day pretty well. But nope.. we're getting inferior 3D remakes. The DS is too low resolution to do anything decent in 3D anyway.

PS2 Dragon Quest V anyone? How about that game SquareEnix? Something I can play without squinting.

I'll stick with the fan translations and hope somebody polishes up DQ6 a little better one day.

I don't really care, generally. Although I agree about DQ6 - a 3D remake doesn't really do it justice. None of the others were anything particularly spectacular visually, though you'd have though the PS2 remake of 5 could have looked a bit better. Isn't it just like DQ4 PSX with slightly higher-res textures? Blech.

I'd rather have them on Playstation as well but I'll take what I can get and I really like the Dragon Quest series.
