The Purple Parade is marching in full stride to the beat of that 'other' drum we all hear, but generally ignore. ;)

Maybe Jack Thompson has a good idea.

Yeah, I mean, maybe a few psychotic kids claim they video games made them kill a few dozen people.
Let's ban video games.

But, the actual killing is done by using guns.
Let's ban guns too, so they can't kill.

And many of the kids get to their killing spot by cars.
Let's ban cars so they can't get there.
Plus, we'll also be stopping hundreds of car crash deaths!

But, why do these kids kill?
Often, they are teased by the other kids at school.
Might as well ban schools. Then they won't be teased.

Okay, you get the idea. Any more ways we can stop these kids from killing?  :D

How about exterminating the whole human race, this way no one can harm someone else ;)

Ban all guns in america ala "That's my bush"

Hire guards in schools that actually...you know...guard.

Go back in time and prevent the invention of gun powder.  Sure we may lose a few things here and there, but I'm sure it's worth it.

Minority Report?

I was about to mention that.

If it WAS actually possible, that system would be pretty flawed.  I can't even count how many times I've gotten my ass kicked in a hard ass video game and yelled "I'm gonna kill the makers!"  ;D

I would not mind bannig schools.. that way i would actualy be able to get some somewhat less biased fact, and i would not have to waste my time lerning about how great my country is (and i really feel sorry for you americans)

i partly agree with your first part, and totally agree with your second part. anyway, i was watching tv (in Canada, we get american tv as well), and you wouln't believe all the crap about the army they're passing on. they talk about protecting 'america's freedom' by joining the army. i mean, my ass. get real--- how the hell does killing irakis, not counting the votes of blacks in the US, or policing the arab worlds make the US fight for freedom? their commercials are sickening... no offence guys.

if there is a great country out there, then it has to be someting like Tibet or India. Monks and Yogis sorta walk that path of "sweetness" (sorry, i just don't know what other word to use)

I wouldn't go naming great countries unless you've actually been in and lived in them.  I think you'll find life in Tibet and India is not a big bowl of cherries.  It sure as hell is different, yes.. but may not be all that wonderful.

i didn't say that they were Nightcrawler, i only said that it has to be a country like those. i did not say that either Tibet or India were great countries--- only something in those areas (which could either exclude or include them). but, i do have to admit one thing however, the Indians and Tibetans have brought great things, although i'm sure not all appreciate them.

ever heard of the "Perfume Saint" or the "Leviating Saint"? Or, what about Lahiri Mahasaya? or, perhaps you've heard of Paramahansa Yoganada? Or maybe you know of other Swami Monks?

Nightcralwer, have you ever been to an Ashram? have you ever meditated? or stood on your on head? (i'm still working on that one)
-------------------------------------------------
anyway---- they were great people. i think i don't i have to mention the Tibetan ones.

about the guard--- that's a good one. at my, erm, former cegep (i just finished... assuming i didn't fail anything), there's a guard who's just huge. i wonder what the fuck she can do if some guy shows up and commits an act of theft. and even worse, how can a guard guard without a weapon? what is she gonna do? call backup and wait for it while the guy escapes?

No.. I'm not into meditating.  In my life I'm always on the go.. always have a million things to do to beat the clock.  No time to get into all that spiritual stuff.

oh, i agree. time is of the essence. but, did you know that some are able to meditate easily for 22-24 hours a day? some don't even need to sleep. that's how powerful Yogis can be. and others don't even need to eat.

now, to Buddhism--- it is said that Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha--- "The Enlightened One"), at the end of his life, was able to live off on one grain of rice per day.

EDIT: oh, and meditating is really hard when you're not used to it. i mean, i can only meditate for about 7 minutes. trust me, it's really tiring for your back. although, time seems to pass quite quickly.
