I just stumbled across this site after checking Magic Destiny (I was hoping to find the patch for Wozz). I have to say, I'm so friggin happy I did find ithis site :P

I was checking out the forums and am glad to see that the MD crew is quite active(me want Hourai High ;_;), and I can't wait for this group to set up the Wozz patch, definately looking forward to it.

MD is quite active? Could have fooled me o_O Make sure you check the dates on the CTC board, including the year column.

Regardless, welcome and stuff.

DestinFaroda

Let me rephrase that, their still alive and doing work :P

Gideon Zhi

I stand by my previous statement :p

I agree with Gideon.. Show me evidence of any work being done by anyone in Magic Destiny.

Akujin's with MD isn't he? and he just turned in the script of Wozz, or was he just affliated with them? I know Satsu is with MD to, and  is trying to get Hourai High's script.

Gideon Zhi

I don't speak for him, but I'm pretty sure satsu's trying to get the Hourai script from MD 'cuz it was his project in the first place and they've all but kicked the proverbial bucket. As far as akujin is concerned, yes he did translation work for them, but he also did translation work for me (couple of fairly major projects, too: see Gun Hazard and SRW3, among others.) Of the really core MD members, Wildbill is off being patriotic somewhere and last I heard Taskforce had gone into fansubbing.

Of MD's projects, well... Wozz has obviously been picked up, Mystic Ark is alive and well elsewhere (although I'm not at liberty to say where), Bakumatsu Kourinden Oni is being worked on over at Yonin no Translators if I remember correctly, I've picked up Fire Emblem 3 for myself and am awaiting people to help with the scripts, I might be partnering with Disnesquick for Lady Stalker, and satsu wants me on Hourai as well - it's a pretty cool game, I just haven't gotten around to dumping the scripts.

...I should do that this weekend. You reading this, sats? Smack me if it's not done by Tuesday.

OOOooooooh, I see where I made a mistake, I thought Satsu and Akujin were both part of MD, where they were just affiliated and helping out, my bad.

It seems it's time for me to do the explaining.

Magic Destiny is as far as I can tell, Wildbill, Taskforce and Akujin. I was originally working on Hourai myself with Akujin, who suggested getting help from Wildbill and Taskforce who he'd worked with in the past. Shortly after, Magic Destiny was formed, consisting of the three.
As far as translation hacking goes, I have always been independent.

Also, Gideon: don't worry about it, take your time. :D

Ah, thanks for the explanation Satsu, can't wait to get my hands on Hourai, I've been dieing to play that for at least since 2003 or somethin like that. Best of luck to you getting that script.

Rpgfreak

Well I guess that is partly good news about some of the projects of Magic Destiny. Seems like they still want to translate the games, even though they really don't have the time. I think these projects will eventually be released to be picked up for others. Especially as they aren't doing any hacking work lately. I don't know how it will be to pick up things again later on. But I expect they will need a lot of time to regain some experience with the hacking. Then they will need time to get ready to work on the games (Read the code again to understand how the games work).

I wonder how many years of inactivity would be the limit until another hacker/translator would start the same project...

Though I do appreciate their willingness to work on these games. I really hope they will find time soon to start on these projects again.

Satsu, as you work independantly on Hourai, does that mean you have the complete project into your possession?
Started playing an Rpg. I just never stopped...

Well, no. Because it's been a long time during which I've had some computer trouble, I ended up losing all the translated script short of the nondialogue stuff (which is still pretty hefty). I wasn't able to get it out of Taskforce, who seems to have completely lost all his Hourai stuff as it is when I got annoyed a couple of months ago and asked him for it again. As for Wildbill, apparently he only had a chunk of the script, but is doing God-knows-what now.

So basically what I have left is the nondialogue script and the font width hack. The menu hacks and script you've seen before are gone now...

...unless Akujin has the script, but I haven't been able to get in touch with him. ;P
