It's good to see the board got some life for 'cough' the little time while I'm off net.  Got my adsl set up today and I'm starting to understand why people complain about Taiwan's internet.  Ok, I had to reset the connection for the tenth time up to now (because it kept going up and down, but geesh it has finally stablized, hence how I'm typing this now).  and yes, it's a bit slower compared to a shared cable between three people back when I was in Vancouver.  Anyways, I did have a good find, game wise.

I found two copies of Heroine Anthem: The Elect of Wassernixe along with a book walkthrough lying in a stack of old games in a large store in the city where I'm currently in.  I only bought 1 copy though since I only need 1 to run the game.  THe game cost 299 NT (tax included, one thing I really like about Taiwan's prices), which is about $12 CAD or $10 USD.  Considering that the game is out of print, it's not a bad find.

Well, I'm back, and I'll be enjoying the board once again ^^.

(ps. in the first sentence of the latest news it's site, not sight)

Nightcrawler

Welcome back! It sounds like you go back and forth between two very different enviroments.  Sounds pretty neat though!

QuoteHi, byuu.

What?! I am not Arison. I would -never- use capital letters in my name! I am, quite frankly, insulted. >:(

By the way, love the site redesign, Nightcrawler.

Nightcrawler

Thanks, yours is looking pretty damn cool as well, but only on Mozilla! hehe I don't think IE will ever get with the times as far as standards and png's with alpha channels.

Thanks. I actually have found a way to do alpha blending with PNGs in Internet Explorer 5.5 and up...
<img src="image.png" style="filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='image.png', sizingMethod='crop')">
The problem is that I'm not sure how to get that to work for table background images; if it's even possible. Plus, I just really don't want to include either JavaScript or excess code, even if it is Mozilla safe, just to support a broken web browser. I understand that some people are forced to use MSIE (e.g. at work), but I'm not going to go out of my way to support it.

My site is a bit of a stretch though, I really wanted to do things differently than everyone else is these days, with their 'out of the box' PHPNuke themes... I'm glad you like it.

Oh well, it was worth a shot, especially if I smoked you out of whatever hole you were hiding in in the process ;)

Me? I've been around. You probably just didn't hear anything of me except libel.
I finally got around to daikaijuu like I said I was 2 years ago; finishing off the last bits of that now, and rewriting my old cross assembler. Again.
I seem to be so much more productive when I'm not in the forefront dealing with politics. (For you see, shocking as it is, I have a bit of an anger management problem.)
Not sure if you like me or hate me or whatnot, but if you're interested, I'm looking to start on some other things once I have daikai out the way. Probably Chaos Seed. Or maybe not. You're welcome to have any of my work for anything I do, if you want. I'm mainly just taking care of all the hacking in all the games I like, and if I don't get any takers for translators, I'll do that myself in a year or two when I feel I'm fluent enough to do a good job on it. I'm probably going to freelance and help chris and some others with things for a bit as well, so if you have something you need done on an RPG (that doesn't suck), let me know and I can give it a shot. If not, no big deal, just figured I'd ask while I'm here.

I've been looking at your updates of work on Daikai, and it looks great. :)

Thanks, I like your work on Kaijuu Monogatari, too ;D
That game was really, really fun. I heard you were stuck on it, by the way... I was never able to beat it before my hard drive crashed, and I lost my save state. I made it to Fat Bastard's castle thingey. [That -is- his name, right? :P Or Fat Badger...]
But there was some damn volcano in the way that said it needed a -key- to open... Neither silver nor gold keys worked on it. There were quite a few places I couldn't get to. I managed to get the Time/Space Ring, that I don't know what it does. I got the fireproof breastplate thing to walk on lava, and I beat that serpent thing that was guarding the princess, but she doesn't come with you. By the way, this took me a while to find, but in that room, you'll notice the two blocks at the bottom left look funny, if you search them, they will open up and that's how you get to Fat Badger's island. I still need to find a way to get into the cave that's by those two teleport wells, that also uses a key I never found, how to get those two swords or whatever from that mermaid near the top of the volcano spot area, and a few other things... Also never figured out how to ride on those damn chocobo looking things. The instructions are the same for the boat, but it doesn't work. Hopefully some of that helps you get farther into the game...

Nightcrawler

That was my goal with my site too.  I wanted to keep it original and not the trendy 'profession' look or anything using PHP nuke.  I think we both succeeded in doing a nice inbetween blend.

I'm not going out of my way for IE either.  Standards are set for a reason.  IE has been lazy about standard compliancy because people DO go out of the way for IE.  If everyone just stuck to the standards and pages no longer worked on IE, they have no choice but to do something about it.

The Space-Time Ring is used in the middle of this small circular mountain range (kinda northern part of the world). You'll notice a lone sand tile. Use the Space-Time Ring there, and you'll enter the Sky Castle, where you get the King Sword. However, to get past the cave into the mountain range, you need the Key of Light. To get the Key of Light, take both the Heaven and the Earth Scrolls (both treasures found in the ocean) to Yodada, who is in the cave directly south of the town of Gobi (and this cave is covered by magma rocks).
In the case of the mermaid (princess), you need the Earthworm's Tear. To get the Earthworm's Tear, you need the King Sword (see above) and the Queen Sword (one of the ocean treasures). Give them to the person in the cave just east of the mermaid's shrine. Then she'll create a Turban Tank, which digs a tunnel to Fat Badger's area (I'm guessing, this region is as far as I got).
The chocobo looking things (Sand Rats) aren't for riding. They allow you to hold 4 items inside them (effectively increasing one character's item menu from 5 slots to 8 ).
The volcano thing? I'm guessing that is in this area after the Turban Tank I mentioned. I know you need the Iron Axe (which is found in the city of Roche, which is on the island northwest of the large island you start the game on. Once in Roche, give the dying guy a Canteen (suitou I think was the Japanese name).
You need to throw the Iron Axe into the big lake west of the volcano. Answer no when the goddess asks if you're going to throw each type of axe in (gold, silver, copper). Because you didn't lie (about the quality of the axe), she'll change it for the Staff of Earth, which appears to be necessary to get to the volcano area).
I have the whole world map, except that small mountain range with the volcano, mapped out. Should I post it to my site?
Two teleport walls? Can't quite remember that area, unless I haven't gotten there yet.

Good god you made it a lot farther in than me :O
Yeah, you go in and give that mermaid the Earthworm's Tear (I obviously didn't have this), it's in that room. If you look at the bottom left of that room, there are two stones against the bottom, if you search them, they open up. That's how you get to Fat Badger's island. Man, I would have never found the two Heaven and Earth scrolls, just searching anywhere in the damn ocean :/
I always wondered what that woman was for in the cave surrounded by Magma.

I can just barely read Japanese with kanji, so naturally, I had one hell of a time with that game. I always gave the old guys suitou, but I figured all the things they gave you (well, all the stuff you could get when they got out of your way) were worthless... Interesting. I wish I didn't lose my savestate :(
My team was powerful enough to fight on Fat Badger's island with relative ease. I forgot what level I was at, but it was ridiculously high and took me a good 3 hours to level up by that point.

KingMike

I think I remember that room with the two warp wells somewhat. I didn't cross the door in there though (and I forget where the room actually is), but there probably is one other key I haven't found yet, the Platinum Key.
Correction from the previous post, I think you need to just show the two swords to the person in the cave surrounded by magma, to get the tear, then go talk to the mermaid, and the mermaid will create the tank, with a tunnel digging cutscene (but maybe searching the walls was a shortcut or alternate thing the programmers did, and didn't change that event?). It seems you'll need to actually use the two swords to create the Blade of Love (though this text telling of a part I haven't seen yet), supposedly necessary to defeat Fat Badger.
