Will i pay 4000sek for an Xbox 360? Nope, never, the majority of the games released for the Xbox were released for the PC, and the same will most likley be true for the 360.

This won't be the case anymore. X-Box was just PC-Hardware and thus extremly easy to port to PC while X-Box 360 uses PPC Hardware. Porting the games will be much more expensive and won't be done that often as for X-Box.

Well its not an RPG based system what do you expect.. Its more of a shooteruper, sport and action game.

Althought the system might be vastly diferant, its still a lot cheeper to port games than makeing new ones from scratch. I do belive that a lot of the Xbox 360 games will be ported at one time or another.

X Box and X Box 360 are the gayest thing ever made, well maybe if you like FPS, but still its just gay... if your going to blow your money on any kind of console system it has to be a Playstion, they make 3 times as many games as X Box, also they got more types of games to choose from, especially when it comes to RPGs cause im a RPG lover for sure ^_^

Again, the original XBox is a steal at whatever price it's going at if you put a bigger harddrive in and replace the dashboard with something else (like UnleashX or something...) My XBox can play NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA, Master System, Genesis, TG16/CD, Sega CD, PSX, Atari 2600, SCUMM and MAME games. It can play DVDs without Microsoft's special remote, as well as RMs, WMVs, DivX/XviD, and so on. It's got StepMania, with a dance pad, and the original eight DDR mixes (plus homebrew songs) readily accessible right from the dashboard menu. I've also recently installed a Mac Plus emulator on it, too. Whole package, including the new harddrive, Splinter Cell for the hacked save game, a memory card and a USB transfer cable, cost me $230, and it was -well- worth it. GodDAMN was it worth it. (Dance Pad not factored into that price, btw.)

TV Out's nice if you can get it, but my laptop doesn't have anything like that. 'sides, the XBox is a lot more portable than most desktop PCs.

That strikes me as kind of odd.  Both laptops that I've had can use a TV out.  I always thought that was the standard.  Hm.

Mine has one but it somehow doesn't work. Since I don't use it anyway I rather ignored it than send the laptop back and be without a PC for weeks (I gave my "regular" PC to my parents, I only have the laptop now >_<)

If Gideon ever sees this, just wanted to say he's right on with the xbox. You cannot discount the xbox or hate it as a gaming console for it is not just a gaming console but so much more! By the way (bragging rights) UnleashX and Evox, SNES NES GB GBC GBA PCE16 PCECD GENESIS 32x SEGACD ARCADE MASTERSYSTEM GAMEGEAR N64 PSX ATARI2600 LYNX NGPOCKET, best media player XBMC and much more. It is the best console when fully utilized.

Hurray for the MS XBOX.

true but not everybody wants to, knows how to, nor is will ing to pay.  Plus if I had all that stuff and my Xbox fried or what have you...I'd be pretty darn u[set I tell you what.

True, and your right.

I do have multiple backups and always take precautions, but for people waiting for a hacked 360, if it's your system of choice then by all means look forward to it (I am). I imagine it will still take awhile before we get to xbox level modding as far as software apps are concerned.

I started from scratch without any knowlege of anything xbox or PC, but now i'm a full fledged modder and since have moved on to other things that have caught my attention, translations being one of them.

I had a very positive experience out of the xbox modding scene and would suggest if you are still interested (and it is by any means not too late as far as development into the xbox goes), then defenitely google xboxscene and check it out for yourself.

I've been extremely impressed by some of the newer things I've been seeing on xbins. The port of Descent, in particular, is absolutely to die for. It controls like a dream; it's like it was made for two analogue sticks. Good stuff!
