It's updated. I'll buy, but, their about page makes me want to laugh. I mean like "keeping the dream alive for obsolete shit" is just retarded, and a silly pursuit. I mean, they obviously haven't really thought about these things. I think the whole vintage hardware/software obsession is for people with sick minds. I think they're eventually going to have to grow up and get over it because it's not really worth spending so much money into obsolete bullshit, I mean playing the games isn't bad, it's just eventually someday it may break or something and anyways it's a fucking inconvenience to have to handle all those cartridges, cleaning, cords, etc. And it will be gaurded against ROM copying. However, if someone manages to do it I don't care about that anymore, copy the fucking bitch and teach them a lesson. ;) I'd prefer a GBA or PC port, or just emulate it, but we're going to be forced to fucking buy their game.

I don't even care about my MD/Genesis collection anymore, aside from a few titles I may play on the machine for nostalgia, the rest is going on eBay. Maybe DeathAss doesn't really consider that. Maybe he hasn't grown up. Shows you how mature the cuntlicker is with his obsession with SuperFucker, the most retarded fighting game I've ever played.

Hmm.. you've gotten me in the mood to point out a few other sad things about their page.

They claim the game is 'new and exciting' and go on in EVERY SINGLE page to make it sound like it is THEIR game.

They NEVER mention it was released many years ago and all they did was localize it.  I of all people know what goes into a translation, but the fact remains it's NOT what goes into MAKING A GAME!

They continue on their high pedestal by saying this:

QuoteOther positive comments made by fans and potential customers were in regard to the game's well-written script, intense battle system and unique quests. This just shows what can be accomplished when talented, dedicated people set out to produce a high-quality game for a classic game system.

Like the 'intense battle system' and 'unique quests' had a damn thing to do with them...

And as for the 'well-written' script... Their main page has a picture that say THIS:

"Demonic Emperor: Hey, you aren't one of my slave workers."
and
"Gaurd: Out of my site, beggar"

Oh yes, what a well written script.  The characterization and depth is too much for me!

I can't stand these guys and wish they'd get off their high horse already.  They have learned nothing.  They barely give the original developers any credit anywhere at all.

Be careful with this topic.  I have half a mind to delete it just because of being related to Beggar Prince and Death Adder.

Out of curiosity, how much credit did Taito give NeverLand Co. for making all the Lufia games, or Natsume give Taito or NeverLand Co. for their English release of Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals?

Oh yeah, none at all except for the end of the game credits.

QuoteOne fan played the game for five straight hours as others looked on in excitement.
I'm sure they were just riveted by the revolutionary sub-Phantasy Star III-caliber gameplay and graphics.

QuoteThe most commonly heard praise for the game was that its graphics look more like Super Nintendo graphics than Sega Genesis graphics.

Oh, really?

Yes, I've never seen graphics that advanced on an SNES before... please. It looks like a bad VERGE game.
Now perhaps if the Genesis had more than 512 colors IN TOTAL, and a competant video processor, the games wouldn't all look like ass, huh? I guess everyone who attended the expo was color blind.

Nightcrawler beat me to this one...

That is just a whole boatload of sad.
I guess the expo reaction is typical of conventions. Why do people go to these things?

Fans with too much time on their hands.

I really don't care about whether Beggar Prince is good or not. I'll never play it since emulators all explode and I don't own a Genesis. I only worked on it to see a Chinese game get a commercial English release and to get paid a few bucks.

The low price I worked for will be a far more valuable now that I live in China.

Well, at least there weren't any grammar or spelling errors.  Hell, the game's original script may have been boring and generic, and these guys just chose to translate it as such.  Granted, either way they shouldn't be boasting about what a great script it is, but to me dry and boring doesn't constitute a truly ahborrent script.  For that, I refer you to Breath of Fire 2.
All your cliche are belong to us.

Nightcrawler

Breath of Fire 2...... ugh..

Yes.. even I will agree Beggar Prince is lightyears ahead of BoF2.

BoF2 was certainly one of the most poorly translated 16-bit games I've ever seen.  How can a professional company release such shit? They must have had not one script editor.  And the translator spoke very bad English and knew nothing of punctuation.  AND.. they must not have had one person who knew how to program because they barely made any change from the original Japanese game resulting in crappy abbreviations everywhere.

But Nightcrawler, the script writing was so awesome, they say no need to improve it on the GBA.

And on a side, their commercial making skills are awesome.
Try gameads.gamepressure.com, search for "Megaman Collection". :P It is so lame it is almost funny. (though my keyboard is almost as lame, if I try apostraphe or blackslash, I get Firefox s find box)

Nightcrawler

No.. it's not funny. It's just lame. ;)
