I was just wondering, what are your tastes like in RTS games? Personally, I'm not so big on Warcraft 3. I don't know why but it just didn't seem to click. I prefer to play Battle Realms, Kohan and Shogun : Total War. I'm also partial to the odd game of Starcraft. In less of a combat-oriented vein (and possible a more niche one), I really like The Railroad Tycoon series. It's the only one of the Tycoon games that I can really get into.

You think I would have learned by now but I originally posted this in the wrong forum.

Nightcrawler

I never really got into them.  I played a bit of Warcraft 2 and Starcraft.  They were ok and can be fun at times, but they're nothing great in my eyes.

They're ok, but I don't play much actually.  Starcraft was probably the only one I have (and yeah, legally owned too) and I just plainly suck at it lol.  I guess I just suck at RTS games overall. (and yeah, forgetting the CD in my Vancouver house doesn't help much either)

Great Red Spirit

Skill wise, I suck at all RTS games :P

I do find some entertaining though. Warcraft 3 was alright, Starcraft was just as good, and I enjoy Railroad Tycoon 2, except that I only lose more and more money, and I always lose :)

Well, all the titles I suggested are not really 'standard' RTS games, worth a shot if you want to try something a little bit different from the C&C/AoE sort of thing. I tend to get bored of the 'build 1000 units and keep chucking them at the enemy' type of game pretty easily.
