Has this game been translated yet? Is anyone working on it?

It's not translated yet. Originally it was worked on by DeJap, then it was supposed to be worked on by Kammedo from Ynt, and now it's supposed to be worked on by byuu.

In the event byuu fails, I will eventually do this game.

Do you know how far along they are on it? I have been following this game for years. It seems like an awesome game, I have wanted to play it really bad.

Apparently byuu and Tomato are planning to work on it next year.

I've just contacted Tomato, and here is his latest response:

Quote:
As for FEoEZ, that's all up to byuu, I know he's done some hacking on it
but I haven't started any translating. I think he wants to finish the
hacking and then make a nice translation tool before he gives me the
text to work on. But he's also busy with bsnes and all that so I don't
think it's a priority of his at the moment.

I remember trying to get this game to work on emulators using graphics packs but it still didn't work.  Whats the best way to get this game to work on an SNES emulator?

if your computer can handle it, use bsnes. The SPC7110 was cracked making the graphics pack useless (read: the SPC7110 is fully emulated).

I tried the latest version, .047 and it goes to a screen with a little bit of Japanese and then to a checklist SPC7110, where it then says everything is ok but does not go past this screen.  What do I need to do?

What I did:
1. Wait for the first screen to come up. Push A.
2. Wait for it to say OK. Restart the game.
3. Wait for the first screen to come up. Push B.
4. Wait for it to say OK. Restart the game.

After this, it should load into the actual game.

Thanks that fixed the problem, I hope someday this does get translated.  I kind of surprised me that there seems to be an internal clock in the game, I wonder how they use it and if it would work in this situation.

The RTC (Real Time Clock) is used for events. Like some quests happen at a certain time, etc.

Some news again. Byuu's latest news post says the following:

Quote:
With save state support, this leaves only a debugger as a necessary pre-requisite to starting the FEoEZ translation.

That means he'll be working on FEoEZ sooner or later.

byuu certainly has seemingly done a 180 with the save state thing. For probably 2 years he was saying it wasn't feasible, never happening, then with little explanation, out pops save state support. Oh well, I'm not complaining, it's a needed feature, just like the debugger. It's just quite a position change with little reason that I saw.

That is a good step toward actually doing the translation. Maybe it'll even get started this year now.
